What are the Best Exercises to Kick Start Weight Loss?

When you have made the decision to get fit and to start losing weight, you will be looking for the best ways to achieve that without taking too long. Exercise can and should be enjoyable as well as keeping you fit, however, when you are overweight and not fit, you may feel self-conscious or nervous about the gym.

To get the best out of your workout, you need to get your heart pumping and get your breathing rate up. However, you don’t have to take out a membership to the gym or try to fit a treadmill, all you need to do is increase what you already do for a few intense minutes.

If you like walking, then continue to do so, but add maybe a minute of jogging into it every five minutes. It will kickstart your metabolism to work harder, and the benefit is it will continue to work harder long after you finish walking. Strength and Muscle

Apart from boosting your metabolism, there is another way you can burn calories, and that is working your muscles. If you can start to do some type of weight training 2-3 times a week, then your muscles will start to demand more energy and start using fat deposits.

As your muscles get stronger, they will become fat burning furnaces that will use any calories before they turn to fat.

Keep the Exercise in Balance

When you first start to exercise, you may feel that you want to do as much as you can right away. Because of this, you may try to exercise every day for as long as possible.

Although you want to keep your exercise regular, you don’t need to do strenuous exercise every day. If you do too much too soon, you might injure yourself and then have to sit out exercise for a week or so.

You can do things like walking and swim as often as you want, but try to keep strength and another strenuous exercise to 2-3 times a week.

Don’t Forget to Eat

Although you are exercising to try and lose weight, you have to remember that your body still needs fuel. If you try to do too much exercise when you are not eating, you may start to suffer from light headedness or exhaustion.

Try to stick to a healthy diet, and make sure that you take in enough calories to keep your body working. There are many diets out there that will give you the calories you need to be successful.

Losing weight and getting fit is hard work, however, it doesn’t have to be unpleasant or painful. Just take your time and build up your routines slowly, that way, your body will begin to get used to the additional exercise.
